Reservation porta-potties

Wished it looked like this...but instead looked like this:

I went to a relative's house for Thanksgiving and they did NOT have running water! We had to use the outhouse. It is common to find them at the flea market where I make my money to put food on the table and play bingo but come on, why did they choose to host Thanksgiving anyway? Did they not think that it would be chilly, muddy, and wet outside? Oh well, at least I got a break from making frybread...the in=laws did it.

Frybread Stand at the Tribal Conference

"I see you walking along the sand dunes

your long hair is flowing in the wind

I see you doing great things within three years

You will have doors opened up for you

There will be challenges but you will be strong."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We lose power when action ceases."
This quote was in one of the sessions. We always have something to do. Let's get out there and do it. I had a lot of ideas bouncing around when I saw this quote but now when it comes to writing about it my mind just went blank! So yeah, just read the quote and just absorb that thought for a minute...

Doors have opened.

Rainy Dayz

Could not set up my stand today at the flea market at Shiprock. But rainy dayz keep customers astray so I'll stay home today and work on beading my outfit to get ready for the Gathering of Nations Powwow. Yeah, its in April in Albuquerque but I have A LOT to bead.
People bug me to put up my frybread stand there but I don't feel comfortable selling my frybread for FIVE DOLLARS! I want people to enjoy my frybread but not go broke just to eat some good bread!

c-ya on a non-rainy day...

Do you remember the first time you made frybread? It probably didn't turn out well, did it? Mine was like that too. Look where I am today...frybread queen! Don't give up...

On the Roadside

Well, took a break from the frybread stand today to hang out with my sister at her roadside stand. She sells jewelry to tourists. I was a different experience but think I would prefer to feed people, its easier to get them to buy a frybread meal deal than earrings and a necklace package!

First Blog from the Rez

Hello
I am new to this whole blogging thing and would like some advice on what to write about. I live on the reservation. No there is no gate surrounding the reservation. No Indians do not live in tipis. No, the Indians are not all gone. So what do you want to know about the reservation???

Thanks!
